Places to Stay in Atlanta- Wyndham Garden Hotel Downtown

The last time I stayed in Atlanta, I booked a stay at The Atlanta Wyndham Downtown which was  further away from Peachtree Center Metro Station than I wanted it to be.  The hotel was three streets over from the main hub of hotels and eateries downtown and it was the coldest day of the year in Atlanta. A police officer asked me out of the subway if I need a Taxi, but I said no. I didn’t see his to point until halfway down. I totally knew why he asked me then. My dry, white (yes, it was that cold) hands were so freezing and all the feeling had left them. I finally got there and then they can’t find my reservation. Finally, after like 20 min  of me looking for my confirmation number in a purse that hasn’t been cleaned out since Clinton, she finds me and upgrades me to a better room.

The Wyndham is the best hotel for the price and location in downtown Atlanta to me. The hotel gives really great travel agent rates, but it will cost you about $115 - $150 a night. When you enter the hotel the lounge, restaurant, and bar area in on the right. I was never there long enough to have a cocktail or eat, but they did tell me their brunch was 14.95 and the bar closes at 11pm. I was really surprised of the quality of the hotel room considering the hallways and downstairs were very plain looking. Everything was extremely clean (well at least to the eye) and the linen was fabulous! The hotel uses Wyndham Be WellSM bedding and True Blue® Spa Bath & body Works® amenities.  My room was a decent size with a Herman Miller Ergonomic Chair and 32″ flat-screen TV. I really liked the couch and the over all decor of the room. If you are staying for an extended stay in Atlanta, there’s a small refrigerator, microwave, iron, and fitness center for your daily needs.  An outdoor pool is available in the summertime. The Wyndham is Smoke Free (thank God), so smokers go outside.

A couple of cabs are usually parked outside the hotel.  If coming here by car, you can see it right off the interstate. An airport to subway traveler can walk it, if you don’t have a lot to carry. The Wyndham is connected to the Baymont Inn, so that makes it a little hard to locate if you’ve never been there before by foot.

If you sign up for Wyndham by Request before you stay, you are eligible to receive these perks after 3 stays: A welcome snack and drink (adult beverages too), your room your way (the way you prefer it when you arrive) and extras, like towels and pillows. They also have a great rewards program to receive free nights or air miles.

I enjoy Wyndham Hotels and Resorts in many cities because you know it’s going to be a great stay. Book your stay to the Wyndham in Downtown Atlanta! Cheers.
